We Refuse Loud and Silent Lies: A Declaration of Strength and Faith in Jesus

By Minister Sean O'Neil, adapted for Pride Faith Voices

In the face of adversity, the voices of doubt and hate often rise loud and clear. They tell us we don't matter. They try to diminish our worth and silence our voices. But amidst these loud lies, there are voices like yours and mine, standing firm, refusing to be broken.

Fighting Continually, One Day At A Time

We battle daily—not just for ourselves, but for our right to exist as we are. Each second, each minute, each hour is a testament to our resilience. This version of ourselves, this strength we exhibit daily, wasn't built overnight. It's sculpted from pain, from experiences of insecurity, abuse, and deep depression. Climbing out of rock bottom, we've traversed a landscape marred by challenges to arrive where we are today.

Built from Trials, Stronger in Faith

Our journey is one of overcoming 'cray cray crap,' as some might say, a pathway marked by our refusals to let hell have its way with us. Our stories are unique, yet our battles resonate with a familiar echo in the hearts of those who fight similar wars.

A Call to Our Community

Mira mi gente, look here, my people: let's continue to stay God-strong. No matter what we may face today, let's keep our conversations with God non-stop, each and every day. Inspired by the words of Psalms 23:4, "Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me," let us draw strength from our faith.

Stay Connected, Stay Strong

Our shared experiences bind us, creating a tapestry of struggle and triumph woven through our continuous dialogue with the divine. In this community, no one fights alone. We stand together, a force united by our journeys and our unwavering faith.

Footnote: Theological Distinction Between Battle and Fight

In Christian theology, the term 'battle' refers to the overarching spiritual conflict between good and evil. This cosmic struggle finds resolution in the victory of Jesus Christ, achieved through His crucifixion, resurrection, and ascension. This decisive triumph over sin and death secures eternal life for all who place their trust in Him.

While the ultimate battle has been won, individual 'fights'—daily challenges against sin (separation), temptation (struggles), and life’s hardships (circumstances)—persist for each believer. These day-to-day fights are won through personal applications of Christ’s victory as we embrace our salvation and strive to align with His teachings and the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

Thus, the battle for our eternal souls may be won, but the fight for personal wholeness and overcoming life's trials continues. We succeed in each fight by nurturing an intimate relationship with God, submitting our will to His, and engaging actively in our spiritual and physical development—body and soul. This victory is empowered by the Holy Spirit, assured through Christ's redemption, supported by God's unconditional love, and fostered within the community of fellow believers.
