WEEK ONE 2025
Prayer is the sincere, affectionate outpouring of the heart and soul to God through Christ by the aid and assistance of the Holy Spirit for that which is promised in scripture and for the body of Christ, aka, the church.
Prayer Intention
This prayer seeks to release the grip of religious trauma, providing freedom from fear, shame, and guilt. It invites healing, renewal, and a deep sense of God’s unconditional love. The intention is to reconnect with the truth of God’s grace, rebuild trust in the divine, and foster a sense of peace and belonging.
Prayer
Heavenly Father,
We come before You with hearts weighed down by wounds from past experiences. Some of us have been hurt by those who claimed to represent You but instead brought judgment, fear, and rejection. Today, we seek Your healing touch to release us from the chains of religious trauma that keep us from fully embracing Your love.
Help us, Lord, to see You as You truly are—a God of grace, mercy, and compassion. Replace the voices of condemnation with the voice of Your truth, which says that we are loved, valued, and accepted just as we are. Teach us to let go of the shame and guilt that no longer serve us, and to step boldly into the freedom and joy that Your Spirit offers.
We ask for courage to confront the lies that have taken root in our hearts. Lies that say we are unworthy, unloved, or beyond redemption. Replace these lies with the truth of Your Word: that we are fearfully and wonderfully made, that Your grace is sufficient, and that nothing can separate us from Your love.
Lord, guide us to forgive those who may have inflicted pain, intentionally or unintentionally. Not because they deserve it, but because forgiveness frees our hearts to heal. Help us to extend this same grace to ourselves, knowing that healing is a process and You are with us every step of the way.
Holy Spirit, we invite You to fill the empty places left by hurt and betrayal. Let Your presence bring peace where there has been turmoil, joy where there has been sorrow, and hope where there has been despair. Remind us that we belong to You, and that our faith journey is not defined by the actions or opinions of others but by our relationship with You.
Thank You, Lord, for Your faithfulness. Thank You for being a God who sees our pain, hears our cries, and walks with us through the valley. We trust in Your promise to restore, renew, and redeem every part of our lives.
In Jesus’ name, we pray,
Amen.
